Robyn came to the Northern Territory from Victoria after being adopted and was raised and educated in Darwin.
Robyn has 3 sons. In fact it was due to her second son Stephen being born with Down Syndrome that lead Robyn to become the founding member of jthe Down Syndrome Society of the Northern Territory in 1979. Robyn has served on that committee for 10 years in various roles including President.
Robyn has a special gift when communicating, especially when with people requiring special needs and is valued by the Down Syndrome Society of the NT, Total Recreation, Helping People Achieve (HPA) where she is a craft jvolunteer, Total Recreation and Project 21. Robyn has also volunteered at Tracy Village Nursing home, Cowdy Activity Centre, and Top End Mustangs.
While volunteering as a member of Top End Mustangs, Robyn has provided dances for residents of Pearl Nursing home, assists with the free dance jclasses during Seniors Month, teaching dance at Casuarina Senior College.
Last year, after weeks of practice sessions, Robyn and dancers from Total Recreation opened their 'Dancing with the Stars Ball' with a line dance. JThe Total Recreation group and Robyn were also invited to perform at the 2019 NT Disability Awards.
Robyn is a highly valued member and instructor of the Top End Mustangs and has been a tireless volunteer over a wide range of community groups for many years.
