BRONWYN RUSSELL
Nominated by Raquel Nicholls-Skene Seconded by Lyn Barlow
Bronwyn has crammed a lot of voluntary work for numerous organisations interstate and here in the NT.
Among them are, the Mental Illness Fellowship Aust/NT where she was President for 12 years and a Board Member for 5 years. Her involvement in this organisation has led to the development of significant programs for people and families with mental illness across the NT.
She has also given much to Mental Health Carers Aust and was an inaugural Trustee Board Member of Psychosis Australia since its founding.
Bronwyn is currently volunteering at CDU where she has been a Member of the Research Ethics Committee for five years.
Bronwyn has significantly volunteered for other groups, Alice Springs Hockey Assn; Gillen School Hockey Team; Alice Springs Musical Society; Anglican Church of the Ascension; Alice Springs Folk Club and in Darwin, a volunteer swimming teacher at Parap Pool and the Wagaman Pre School Committee where amusingly, she was arrested (along with all the Mums at to Melbourne Cup Fundraiser) for having alcohol as a prize on the chocolate wheel. Luckily they did enough fund raising to raise bail.
Bronwyn has also been a volunteer member of St James Anglican Church in Sanderson where she is part of the music leadership team.
Bronwyn has been a committee member and later President and Vice President of Inner Wheel (the club for partners of Rotary).
Bronwyn. It is such a pleasure to welcome you to our family of NT Seniors Of Excellence.
