Mrs Delma Ainslie - Cowles Alawa NT
Del as she is affectionately known to us, has been a volunteer at the Cancer Council NT since 2007. During her time at the Cancer Council NT, she has helped raise many thousands of dollars. Her diverse range of skills has been a valuable asset to the Cancer Council NT. Whether it is organizing and operating stalls on Pink Ribbon Day and Daffodil Day or attending to administrative and reception duties at the office Del continues to sacrifice her time to assist the Cancer Council NT and its functions in the Darwin region.
Whilst Del commence her volunteering role many years ago, her support was amplified when in 2008, she herself became a victim of Breast Cancer. Del worked hard to overcome this adversity by focusing her energy on the treatment while still delivering her services to the organisation. Even today Del continues to operate stalls during major fundraising events and spends one day of each week to assist office staff with administrative or procedural tasks. Whether this is answering phones, packing boxes and managing mail, Del always has a smile on her face. Our team values her infectious personality and her passion for the work she does for this organisation.
Del has had a great impact on our staff and continues to create an incredible legacy at CCNT. Her unwavering dedication and endearing personality make her a much loved member of the CCNT family. Her support has been instrumental during our times of need. Her enthusiasm and passion, encouragement and example are her greatest assets and we are so proud of her. Del is an enduring inspiration to us all and this nomination as a recipient of a Seniors Of Excellence is an example of our respect and regard for her.
