John has been a member of:
• Master Swimming Australia and it's NT Branch for 28 years
• Secretary of the Darwin Stingers Masters Swimming Club for 25 Years
• Secretary of Masters Swimming Australia, NT Branch for 22 years
2002 - 2015 Was a member of the Masters Swimming Association National Board of Management, which is responsible for policy development for the National Organisation
In 1999 & 2007, John was the Convenor of the Organising Committee for the Masters Swimming Australia National Championship in Darwin, the largest swimming event ever held in the NT
John's hard work over many years has helped Masters Swimming flourish in the NT, providing a range of swimming and related activities for adults aged between 18 and 92 years. His administrative input has contributed to the Darwin Stingers Club in 2021, becoming the largest Masters Swimming Club in Australia.
John contributes up to 80 hours a month on Masters Swimming Organisational matters, as well as Coaching adult swimmers on a voluntary basis.
John was for ten years, Vice President of Darwin Swimming Club (acting President for 5 years) and also served as a Director of the Board of Swimming NT for 3 years.
