Geoff Sloan
Geoff Sloan is a dedicated Territorian and no stranger to voluntarily committing himself to the interests and well-being of Centralians. Since 1991, Geoff has contributed to numerous organisations and agencies, working to improve many wide and varied services, in the interests and accessibility of the people of Alice Springs and surrounds. Some of these include: Central Australian Art; Connellan Airways Trust; NT Primary Health Network; National Seniors Central Australia to name a few.
Alice Springs Town Council: Geoff has been involved voluntarily with the Council as the Seniors Coordinating Committee Member; Making recommendations to Council on actions urgently needed to be taken on behalf of the Senior Citizens of Central Australia
National Seniors Central Australia: Geoff was a Member of the NT Policy Group, serving as it's Chair and Deputy Chair; Advising National Seniors Australia on Policy and Advocating on behalf of Central Australian Seniors, highlighting failures of successive governments and providing solutions to Seniors concerns in Central Australia.
Alice Springs Australia Day Award: In 2017, Geoff was awarded the Centralian Senior Citizen of the Year at the Alice Springs Australia Day Awards.
Northern Territory Primary Health Network: Geoff is a member of the Consumer Advisory Council, providing input on a variety of Central Australian Consumers' Primary Health Care issues.
NT Government: Geoff is a member of the Minister's Advisory Council for Senior Territorians and Territory Families, providing advice on future Policy direction for the NT.
Connellan Airways Trust: As a long term member of this Board, Geoff has provided his good corporate governance to this registered charity to break down the isolation of the Central and Northern Australian Outback through projects that inspire passion, determination, bold ideas and innovative solutions and support individuals and organisations that contribute to advancing outcomes for people in the Outback.
Alice Springs Art Foundation: Geoff is a valued Board Member which is part of a team that is responsible for the Biennial Alice Springs Art Foundation Awards as well as running both the competition and the subsequent Exhibition.
Geoff's voluntary contributions to Central Australia has made Alice Springs and Central Australia a much better place.
