Mr Jon Potter - Stuart Park  

Jon has spent more than 35 years contributing on a voiuntary basis to three major activity groups in the NT through participation and development of their activities.

In the 1970's he became involved in Rally Car driving and so enthused, worked in the planning and establishment of the Hidden Valley Raceway and facilities.

In the 1980's Jon al became involved in the esta_blishment of Orienteering through the Top End Orienteers and enthusiastically contributed in many ways in developing the organisation and activities of the Club. Jon is still an active participant.

In 2001 Jon became involved in establishing the NT Rogaining Association, a team sport of navigating through the bush for up to 24 hours at a time, day and night to find controls that lead to a successful conculusion. Jon has been an enthusiastic President, course setter and member also has been an active competitor in the sport at both local and national events. He was also involved in the successful bid to conduct the World Rogaining Championships to be held in Alice Springs in 2016

Jon’s boundless energy and enthusiasm for the sport has seen its success grown both locally and nationally

Jon is a worthy recipient of a Seniors of Excellence Award.
