Dr Jim Scattini - Katherine
Dr Jim first came to Katherine in 1966 as a Resident at the Katherine Hospital. In 1969 when his term was finished, at Katherine Hospital, Dr Jim and his lovely wife Marie returned to Brisbane. However, the lure of the Territory and particularly the impression Katherine had made upon them, welcomed their return in 1970.
In 1971 Dr Jim, with a colleague Dr Peter Short, opened the Kintore Clinic in First Street Katherine from which Dr Jim still works today. This event started 40 years of amazing service to the town and the region of Katherine.
Dr Jim is not only a very dedicated and wonderfully talented Doctor but a friend to hundreds of his patients some of whom he assisted in bringing into this world.
Dr Jim Scattini or `Scatts' as he is affectionately referred to as, is a humble man who at first, shied away from this award but bowed to the pressure of a devoted and admiring community who acknowledge him as a thoroughly deserving recipient of this Seniors Of Excellence Award
