Justine has had a lengthy and extensive involvement with the Girl Guides; Movement since 1994 when she worked as a leader for the Nightcliff Rosella Guides, Moil Rosella Guides and Palmerston Sunset Guides. She also provided backup with other leaders for the Humpty Doc? Brumby Guides when the Unit Leader was unavailable due to Maternity Leave.
From 2011 to 2022, Justine worked as the District Manager for Girl Guides in the Top End, retiring in 2022 and also as a member of the Northern Territory Girl Guides Board for 8
years. She also attended Girl Guide camps in Darwin, Tennant Creek, Queensland, Launceston, Geelong and the Snowy Mountains,
In 2011 Justine was part of a team which held Girl Guide meetings for girls in Immigration Detention Centres at both the Detention Centre and the Moil Hall.
From 2016 to 2020, Justine worked with a team renovating the Moil Hall. Justine has also led a team that conducted eleven High Teas as both experience for the girls and as a Fundraiser.
For around 10 years Justine acted as Girl Guides Property Manager for the rental of Moil and Parap Halls, assisting other not-for-profit organisations seeking to hire halls. This assisted in fundraising to cover utility running costs such as electricity, water, repairs and maintenance. BBQs at Bunnings and Government House and the Girl Guides Food Stall at the Royal Darwin Show from 2014 to 2022 further assisted in their fundraising.
Justine also assisted with NT Government Grant Applications to assist various aspects of Girl Guide activities in the Top End.
Added to Justine's extensive involvement with Girl Guides, she volunteered as a teacher for Religious Instruction Classes at both Moulden State School for 14 years and Essington
School for three years.
Justine was also:
• School Fete Co-ordinator for St Paul's Primary School for 7 years;
• Co-ordinator of the Mothers Club for mums of students for 7 years;
• Committee Member of Parents & Friends of St Pauls and O'Laughlin College;
• Secretary of St Pauls Parish Council for 3 years
• Assisted husband Robert with Rotary duties
• Welcomed a Japanese Exchange Student into their home for 3 month
Justine is another fine example of a Senior Of Excellence
