Mr Robert (Bob) Fox
Robert was brought up on a Queensland cattle station. He arrived in the NT some 54 years ago. For almost 40 of those years, Robert worked tirelessly in the field of Environmental Management and Biological Research including the world's first use of radioisotopes in field studies of termites.
This was followed by a further 14 years as Parks and Wildlife Regional Manager. His lengthy experience includes natural resource management including biodiversity, conservation, wildlife utilisation, forestry, agriculture, environmental management in mining with particular emphasis on policy and
legislation.
However, there is another side to Bob's busy life. As his young family grew, he attended to the development of their sports at Little Athletics and soccer and for a number of years, was a member of the Rapid Creek Primary School Parents Association. The, Keep Australia Beautiful Council, Darwin kept Bob occupied for a few years and also assisted the pre-cursor of the Environment Council of NT.
Bob's children are now well into their 40's and Bob involves himself as the grandparent of five.
Bob has spent over 40 years of involvement in shooting sports -
• A member of the Australian Clay Target Association for 40 years
• The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia for 33 years
• Represented NT at National Clay Target Shooting Championships
• 40 years Admin of Shooting Sports at NT & National Level
• 6 years President Darwin Clay Target Club - 30 years Committee
• 4 years President of NT Firearms Council
• 21 years Exec Member Australian Clay Target Assn
• 6 Years National Vice President Australian Clay Target Assn
• Life Member Darwin Clay Target Club & NT Clay Target Assn
• Life Member Australian Clay Target Assn
• A year as a member of the Ministerial Wildlife Advisory Council;
• Member of the National Seniors Australia since 2014;
• Chair of National Seniors Policy Advisory Group since 2018;
• Fundraising activities for the Darwin Chorale;
• A long-term blood donor and a registered Organ Donor.
Bob has a long record of expertise in Environmental Management and is an author and co-author of 13 Scientific and numerous other publications.
