Mrs Jeanette Anictomatis - Darwin

Jeanette has been a tireless voluntary worker in a range of organisations and projects to aid and assist the community of the Northern Territory and in particular Darwin and the Top End.
• Jeanette has been for many years, British Honorary Consul in Darwin a position in which she serves with total professionalism and dignity from 2006 to the present time. Please note although a voluntary position, any personal expenses incurred such as travel, meetings, conferences and the like are reimbursed by the Embassy.
• When she resided at Government House as wife of the then Administrator, Jeanette was actively involved in the work of the Government House Foundation and was their Patron. Due to her drive and fortitude, one of her pet projects was completed. This was the production of a Schools information Kit, explaining the role of the Administrator and of Government House itself.
• In 2001 at Government House in Canberra, Jeanette was made a Dame of the
Grace in the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.
• Jeanette was a participant on the Hon Peter Styles MLA, Minister for Senior Territorians, Advisory Board, a voluntary role.
• Jeanette has also been involved in many other community organisations
including but not limited to (a) National Seniors of Australia-Top End Branch;
(b) Rondalla String Band; (c) Girl Guides Darwin; (d) Rotary Club of Darwin
Sunrise.
• Jeanette was an Alderman on the Darwin City Council - a paid position but provided much voluntary support to her love for her community;
• One Google reference states of her, "skilled in the `Not-For-Profit' sector work. A woman of integrity."
It is a pleasure to refer to Jeanette as a Senior Of Excellence.
